Personal statement:

It has long been my desire to work as an artist in the games industry, and over the past 9 years I have gained valuable experience and knowledge working for a leading developer of web based games. My experiences so far have strengthened my desire to both improve and put to use my technical and creative skills on increasingly bigger challenges in 3D game art production.

Education:

BA (Hons.) Digital Arts and Animation

2:1

London College of Music and Media.

September 2001 – May 2004

Advanced GNVQ Art and Design

NVQ Level 3 in 3D Studio Max.

Merit

Farnborough College of Technology.

Employment:

November 2005 – present

3D artist – Jagex Games studio.

I started working for Jagex as Junior 3D generalist, my responsibilities included producing 3d Assets and animations as well as mapping environments, this was primarily for Runescape – a 3D browser based MMORPG that utilises low poly models and procedural texturing (now moving into hand painted texture work)

In my current role I am now a 3D modeler specialising in character art.

Toolset

In both my proffesional and personal work I use a mixture of proprietary tools, along with 3DS Max, Zbrush and photoshop. As well as some experience with Maya.

I am adaptable with using new software and eager to learn.

I also have a very good working knowledge of game asset creation, technically and artistically. I am able to work under art direction in a team and as an individual, as well as adapt to a number of different styles and technical limitations from low polygon and low resolution textured assets, though to current generation specifications.
